The apartment, furnished with all comforts, is located in the Costa-Saragozza district, a quiet but lively area of Bologna and is within walking distance of:

- 5 minutes from the famous portico leading to the Sanctuary of the Madonna di San Luca,

There is also a cycle path in the area that leads to the historic centre in just a few minutes in one direction, and towards the outskirts in the other, entering, after a few kilometres, the splendid Parco della Chiusa, better known as Talon.
The Sanctuary of San Luca, a 5-minute walk away, is the first stop on the Via degli Dei and Via Mater Dei trails. These trails are rich in history, nature, culture, and food and wine.

THE CATERING
In a setting that blends the ancient and the modern thanks to a complete renovation in 2005, Il Poggiolo offers a large indoor room, air-conditioned or heated by a stone fireplace, for up to 90 people, a smaller room for 25, and an outdoor pergola (protected in case of bad weather and heated in the spring and autumn) for more than 100 guests.
All spaces are free of architectural barriers.
The kitchen offers traditional Bolognese dishes and creative recipes with a focus on the passing of the seasons.
From the organic farm cereals, fruit, vegetables, wine grapes.
Our mill produces wheat and spelt flour for bread and other bread products, pasta, sweet treats, and cakes. Whatever we can't produce ourselves, we source from local farmers and breeders, thus living up to our vision of "zero-mile catering."
All this to guarantee our guests the highest quality and freshness.
From our vineyards, three great red wines from the Bologna hills and two white wines with great aromas and persistence.

Friar's Mill
This old mill, completely renovated internally while respecting its original features, has been inhabited for a few years by two elderly pensioners, one a veterinarian and the other a herbalist, who are committed to becoming farmers.
Beekeepers since time immemorial, they use their vegetable garden and processed produce to feed themselves and the pilgrims organically and in an environmentally friendly manner. Their motto is simplicity.

Along the Via dei Santuari, the Via Mater Dei, descending from Bruscoli or Futa, you'll find the ancient cart tracks that carried countless pilgrims to the Sanctuary of the Madonna di Boccadirio. One of these roads, now a trail, passes right in front of our house, Il Mulino del Frate (formerly Mulino della Vanella), on the Gambellato stream, a tributary of the Setta.
The trail is marked by the CAI (Italian Alpine Club) as number 17, is part of the Alta Via dei Parchi (High Parks Trail), and is 3-5 km from the Via degli Dei (The Way of the Gods). It's less than an hour's walk from the sanctuary.
Renovated while maintaining the house's rustic spirit, it has been our home for a few years now, and we offer family-run rural hospitality to pilgrims who pass through, upon reservation.
We have two rooms with a shared bathroom and one with a private bathroom, two queen-sized beds and two single beds. We can accommodate approximately 6 people.
You can also eat something here, what we eat: we are not a restaurant and the table can also be shared.
Ours is a Tuscan-Emilian home cooking made mainly with our own products.
Upon request, we organize snacks and picnics in the large, flat farmyard that separates us from the stream, which is also our swimming pool in the summer.
On the site you can also find our online shop for our products and, depending on the season, our local farm-to-table products.
